Crying is their communication, but often this may seem to become excessive, and you may find yourselves on a treadmill, of all day trying to settle the baby, and can no longer tell when the baby is tired, hungry or upset. It can be very demoralising to feel unable to comfort and settle your young baby.

Some babies who are unsettled in the early months do not learn to cope without mum very close, if not actually in your arms, and sometime not happy even then.
